The fifth Gym is located in Porta Arkasia, on the western side.
The fifth Gym Leader, Croco-roko, specializes in Ground-type Pokémon. To challenge him, you must have at least 3 Pokémon in your party.
After you defeat Croco-roko, he does not give you the Badge—instead, he leaves to search for Fossil Pokémon.
From the Pokémon Center in Porta Arkasia, head west to trigger a cutscene where the Fossil Hunt competition is taking place. Croco-roko is also participating.
To join the Fossil Hunt, enter a building and speak to the receptionist on the left side of the nurse.
Then, head west toward Savanna's Jungle. Explore until you reach Akra Desert.
- In Akra Desert, go west until you see a Hiker with a Machoke. Continue west to find a hole—descend into it.
- Walk east, and you'll find a large rock blocking the path. Suddenly, the Hiker and Machoke fall down.
- Continue forward to meet another Hiker guarding a Fossil. Defeat him to obtain the Claw Fossil.
- In Akra Desert, head east and look for a cave entrance on the right. Enter and find a descending staircase.
- Step into the quicksand and drift to the right to discover the Dome Fossil.
Finding the Go-Goggles
- Look for a hole in the western area and find a man in white named Breeder Jasper, who will give you the Go-Goggles.
Sandstorm Area & Pyramid
- After obtaining the Go-Goggles, proceed into the sandstorm area. Head south to find a pyramid-like building, but two guards block the entrance.
- Instead, go left into a quicksand area, which transports you to another location.
- Explore until you meet a member of the Aqua Pirates. He reveals he's here for the Old Amber and introduces himself as Khar.
- He blocks your path—defeat him in battle. Then, follow Khar up the stairs until a cutscene triggers:
- Captain Orania successfully obtains the Old Amber, while Croco-roko argues with him over it. Suddenly, Croco-roko and his group get trapped by bombs set by Captain Orania.
- Croco-roko asks for your help to deactivate the bombs. Once you succeed, he rewards you with the fifth Badge (Terrabadge), and Rainer gives you HM02 Fly.
Finally, return to Professor Matkins to report your progress.
