Side Quest - Eye of the Beholder Pokemon Lazarus GBA

side quests in Pokémon Lazarus version 2.0 - Eye of the Beholder

Several side quests in Pokémon Lazarus version 2.0 require the Heart Scale. While this item is fairly easy to find, it does require a bit of effort.

  • Location: Kalami city
  • Head south, then walk slightly southeast past the water. You'll find an artist there talk to him and give him a Heart Scale to inspire his new artwork.

How to Get a Heart Scale

I have written a fairly comprehensive article on this blog about how to obtain the Heart Scale: "How to Get the Heart Scale in Pokémon Lazarus V2.0"

1. Hidden Item (Fastest Method)

Location: Riverwalk Trail (South)

Method: Press A on the bush near the river. You can find 1 Heart Scale here even before earning your second Badge.

2. Hunting Wild Finneon (Farming Method)

This method requires time and specific preparation:

Requirements:

  1. Good Rod: Obtained from the fisherman in Sofos City.
  2. HM03 Surf: Obtained from Niko after completing "Chimera's Mega Plan" in Asfal Hills (requires the 4th Badge to use outside battle).
  3. Item Stealing Move: A Pokémon with TM46 Thief (found in the river of Froslass Cave) or the move Covet.
  4. Recommended Location: Pythios Cemetery (near Pythios Town).

Why? It features a pond with a 60% encounter rate for Finneon.

Drop Rate: Wild Finneon here have a 50% chance of holding a Heart Scale.

3. Alternative Strategy (No Thief/Covet):

If you lack a stealing move, simply use your Good Rod to catch many Finneon in Pythios Cemetery. Once caught, check their held items; you can then release them and keep the Heart Scales.

After obtaining the Heart Scale, return to Kalami City and speak to the artist. You will then receive the Opal Fish Poster.
