Bruccie Village
After you've finished all your business in this village, it's time to move on. Head east (right) toward Route 12. There, you'll spot a signpost (West: Bruccie Village, North: Calicin Bay). Our next destination is Calicin Bay. From the signpost, continue east, then turn north, and turn east again until you find a set of stairs leading down. Descend the stairs, walk a bit to the right, then continue north. You'll arrive at Calicin Bay.
Calicin Bay (Clancy and Ena)
This area is packed with trainers and Team Pluto grunts. Keep heading east (right) and sweep through all the enemies blocking your path. At the end of the road, you'll face two Team Pluto members — none other than Clancy and Ena. Get ready, because they'll challenge you to a Double Battle on the spot!
Clancy & Ena (Double Battle)
- Dusknoir (Lv. 45)
- Thievul (Lv. 45)
- Toxicroak (Lv. 46)
- Scolipede (Lv. 46)
- Weezing (Lv. 47)
- Crobat (Lv. 47)
After the Battle:
- Accidentally, Clancy lets slip that Team Pluto's main operation is currently underway at their secret headquarters in Daimyn City. Surprisingly, Ena suddenly suggests that they both leave Team Pluto. She admits she's tired of hurting Pokémon and people, and wants to start a new life. Clancy agrees, especially since he's frustrated by constantly losing to you and realizes you won't stop until Team Pluto is crushed. As a gesture of good faith — and hoping you'll keep their departure a secret — Ena reveals the exact location of the hideout: a house at the southern end of Daimyn City, with a hidden staircase under heavy guard.
- Now, use Fly or walk back to Daimyn City.
Daimyn City & Infiltrating the Hideout
Our main objective now is to find Team Pluto's headquarters. Look for a house located right next to the Daimyn City Restaurant (this is the same house where you found TM46 Thief earlier). Enter the house. Inside, you'll meet Alistair, who is interrogating a disguised Team Pluto grunt. Alistair successfully forces the guard to open the secret door. He mentions that he received an anonymous tip about this hideout's location and came to take down Team Pluto, who always resort to violence. Alistair is thrilled to see you and asks you to team up for the raid. Follow Alistair down the hidden staircase into Pluto HQ.
Pluto HQ (Team Pluto's Secret Base)
Upon arriving on Floor 1 (B1F), Alistair, who has already scouted ahead, explains the situation: this base is a massive labyrinth (spanning B1F to B7F). Team Pluto's leader is hiding in the main room on Floor 1, which is tightly sealed. To unlock the leader's room, you'll need 4 Card Keys scattered across various floors to open doors with specific motifs: Owl, Cypress Tree, Serpent, and Cerberus. Additionally, navigation relies heavily on Warp Panels (teleportation devices). Alistair will split the tasks with you. The infiltration mission to find the keys begins!
Important! On Floor 1 (B1F), there's an elevator with a locked door. Remember its location well, because that's your final destination after collecting all the keys.
Locations of the 4 Card Keys
1. Cypress Key
From Floor 2 (B2F), find a Warp Panel and step into it. You'll be teleported to Floor 6 (B6F). On B6F, there's an Owl-motif door and a Nugget item you can pick up. From there, walk upward and descend the stairs to Floor 7 (B7F). On B7F, find the Warp Panel near an NPC researcher. Step into it, then in the next room, walk upward and enter another Warp Panel. You'll arrive at Floor 4 (B4F). Walk right to find a Poké Ball containing the Cypress Key. Return to the Warp Panel near the researcher (B7F) to continue your search.
2. Cerberus Key
From the Warp Panel near the researcher (B7F), walk left until you find a tile puzzle. Get past the puzzle to reach the Cypress Tree-motif door. Press A to open it. Enter the elevator behind that door. Inside, Admin Ronald is waiting for you. Defeat him in battle to obtain the Cerberus Key.
3. Owl Key
Go to Floor 6 (B6F) and find a Warp Panel. Step into it to head to Floor 3 (B3F). On B3F, enter the Warp Panel on the left. You'll return to B6F (in a different area). Climb the stairs to Floor 5 (B5F). Walk upward and defeat the two Team Pluto grunts blocking the way. After that, turn right to find a Poké Ball containing the Owl Key.
4. Serpent Key
Go to Floor 4 (B4F) and walk left until you find an Owl-motif door. Press A to open it and enter the elevator. Inside, you'll face Admin Irine. Defeat her to claim the Serpent Key.
Optional Exploration (Highly Recommended!)
After obtaining all four keys, you could head straight to the leader's room on B1F. However, this base holds many valuable items. If you want to explore, follow this route:
1. Linking Cord
- Go to Floor 2 (B2F) and look for a locked door on the left side. Open it to grab items like Max Repel and Ultra Ball. In the same room, step into the Warp Panel, which will take you to Floor 7 (B7F). In this area, you can find a Linking Cord while also unlocking an access door on Floor 7.
2. TM100 Confide & Master Ball
- Look for a Cypress Tree-motif door. Behind it is TM100 Confide. From there, walk upward to a Warp Panel leading to B4F. Walk right past the trap statue, enter the Warp Panel to B1F. Open the Cerberus-motif door, step into the Warp Panel on the right (leading to B7F), and grab the incredibly valuable Master Ball!
3. Rare Candy
- Go to B6F, enter the Warp Panel to B3F. Walk downward, then turn left to pick up a Rare Candy.
4. TM59 Brutal Swing
- On B3F, walk downward toward the Cypress-motif door. Enter the Warp Panel leading to B1F. In the northeast corner of that room, you can pick up TM59 Brutal Swing.
The Climax Battle
Once you're satisfied with your item collection, return to Floor 1 (B1F) and approach the locked elevator door. Use all four Card Keys to unlock the security doors. Inside, you'll face Kurtis, an old man who turns out to be Team Pluto's supreme leader. Alistair will catch up to you, followed by Admins Irine and Ronald.
Kurtis will lecture you about his insane philosophy: that humans are "lost sheep" who must be led with an iron fist. He justifies any means — including stealing legendary Pokémon, mysterious stones, and Snag Machines — to achieve absolute power. Stop his ambitions here and now!
Boss Battle: Leader Kurtis
- Amoonguss (Lv. 49)
- Excadrill (Lv. 49)
- Dusknoir (Lv. 49)
- Kommo-o (Lv. 49)
- Gyarados (Lv. 50) ➔ Will Mega Evolve!
After the Battle:
After you successfully defeat Kurtis, Alistair also manages to take down Irene and Ronald. Alistair reveals that he had already reported to the authorities before the raid and recorded all of Kurtis's incriminating conversations. Now, Team Pluto's crimes have been exposed to the public. Cornered, Kurtis and his two subordinates are forced to flee, though he still insists that the "idea" of Team Pluto will always rise again.
As a token of gratitude for your help, Alistair gives you HM03 Surf. This item is crucial for continuing your journey toward challenging Gyms and reaching Tsarvosa City. Before leaving, Alistair destroys the Snag Machines in the lab and finds a mysterious report about a "Wish Pokémon" that can grant desires — a new mystery that piques his curiosity.
Daimyn City (Post-Battle Secret)
You'll automatically be outside Daimyn City. Don't leave just yet! Re-enter Pluto HQ and return to the room where you fought Kurtis. Check the sofa area in that room to find a hidden item: Gyaradosite (Mega Stone for Gyarados).
