Start this adventure in Acrisia City by approaching a Performer standing by the pool. Instead of challenging you to a battle, she asks you to show the Togepi entry in your Pokédex as the quest requirement. She calls it "A Girlypop Dream."
Problem is, your Pokédex might still be blank on that one. She won't spell it out, but the message is clear: go catch a Togepi and bring the data back to her. Mission accepted.
Where to Find Togepi
Togepi isn't just roaming around everywhere. According to the data, it only pops up in two wild locations, and each comes with its own flavour of pain:
1. Erinys Path (West)
- Encounter rate: Just 2%. Yeah, you read that right. Prepare to pace through tall grass for a while.
- Upside: It's super close to Pythios Town and accessible as early as 2 badges into the game. This is the perfect early game route if you're determined to snag a Togepi as soon as possible and don't mind a serious test of patience.
2. Sea of Asteri
- Encounter rate: 10%, way more forgiving.
- Catch: That nicer encounter chance probably comes later in your journey. If you're happy to wait until the mid game, this is the breezier, more relaxed hunting option.
3. The Shortcut: Wishing Well
Now, if the thought of trudging through grass with a 2% spawn rate makes you want to scream, there's a magical workaround over in Jusmail Town: the Wishing Well.
There's a condition though. You'll need a Wishing Star. Toss that into the well, and you get an encounter. If it's not Togepi, just soft reset. Rinse and repeat until the little egg shaped cutie finally appears. It's physically the most "chill" method by far, though your fingers will be doing some serious work with all those resets!
The Unexpected Reward: Eviolite
Once the hunt is over, whether you grinded it out on Erinys Path or abused the Wishing Well, and Togepi's data is safely logged in your Pokédex, head back to that Performer in Acrisia City and show her.
As thanks for making her "A Girlypop Dream" come true, she'll hand you a competitive battling gem: the Eviolite. This item boosts the Defense and Special Defense of any Pokémon that can still evolve, and trust me, that's an incredible reward that makes every frustrating minute of the Togepi hunt completely worth it.
Happy hunting, Trainers!
