Walkthrough Part 4 Pokemon Amethyst: From Route 8 to Forgotten Manse

Walkthrough Part 4 Pokemon Amethyst: From Route 8 to the Rotom Mystery in Forgotten Manse

From Heleo City to Route 8
From Heleo City, head west (to the left) toward a gate. Once you exit the gate, you will arrive at Route 8.

Route 8
This route is vast and stretches far. If you keep heading north, you will eventually reach the gate leading to Daimyn City. However, it is worth exploring first because there is a fascinating spot you will not want to miss: the Forgotten Manse.

Carefully explore every corner of this route. Here are some items you can find:

  • Misty Seed
  • TM48 Round (Use Cut on the small trees to clear the path).

As you traverse the route, you’ll come across a bridge. Use this bridge as your reference point to find the way to the Forgotten Manse. From the bridge, turn left. You’ll spot a breakable stone: press A to use Rock Smash. Continue left, then head downward to find a staircase. Descend it, turn left again, move upward, and you’ll see the entrance to a cave. Enter the Route 8 Cave, walk straight up until you reach a staircase, climb it, and you’ll arrive at the Forgotten Manse.

Forgotten Manse (Outdoor Area)

  • Upon arrival, head left. Near the old house, you’ll find a Poké Ball containing the Manse Key, an essential item for exploring the mansion.
  • Move downward, jump down, and proceed left. You’ll meet Nurse Lucy. She can heal your Pokémon, but as usual, you must defeat her first. She uses a Togetic (Level 25), Comfey (Level 25), and a Floette (Level 25).
  • From the front of the large old house, turn left and move upward. You’ll discover another Poké Ball holding Odd Incense.

Forgotten Manse (Inside)

  • This house has two floors and one basement. We will use the central room on the first floor as our starting point.

#First Floor

  • First Floor As soon as you enter, turn left and head upward. You will find a table. Read the note on it:

"Professor Inkberry's Log
Entry 1, March 12th
My research into Pokémon that can temporarily change forms has proven fruitless. I am alone in my endeavor, as the scientific community is more interested in studying the Mega phenomenon first seen in the Kalos region. I had hoped for a fresh start, but I fear it was a mistake."
  • From the table, walk upward. You will find a Cleanse Tag item to pick up.
  • Return to the central room on the First Floor. To the left, you will see a staircase leading down to the Basement.

#Basement

  • Walk to the right, then head upward. You will find a table with another note:

Professor Inkberry's Log
Entry 2, March 27th
It has been roughly two weeks since my last entry and I am no closer to understanding the form changing phenomenon. My spirits are falling by the day, and I find myself becoming increasingly frustrated. Furthermore, I occasionally hear a buzzing sound from within the walls that I cannot pinpoint. I fear it will drive me mad....
  • From this note, walk to the left, then head downward. Look for a switch and press A. This switch will open a door on the Second Floor.
  • Return to the central room on the First Floor. Now, climb the staircase on the right to head up to the Second Floor.

#2 Floor

  • Walk upward and pick up the Spell Tag.
  • Head down, turn right, and continue upward. You will find a table with a note:
"Professor Inkberry's Log
Entry 3, April 3rd
I am certain I am going mad now. No more than twenty minutes ago, I heard that infernal buzzing again, louder than ever before. As I rose, the sound... moved down the hall. I pursued it, shouting as my frustration got the better of me. As I turned the corner, I saw something most unusual!! It was a slender blue light, flowing freely with a twitching motion. It disappeared just as quickly as it appeared. I am not certain I saw it correctly, but I've made a decision. I'm putting my form research on hold until I can solve this mystery."
  • From here, walk upward and take the Poké Ball containing TM60 Hex.
  • Then, head to the right. Watch out for the broken wooden floor in the corner of the room. Jump into that dark area. You will fall into a room on the First Floor.
#First Floor
  • In this room, there is a switch. Press A to open the nearby door.
  • Walk downward, turn left, go up, and then turn right. Pick up the Great Ball.
  • Continue to the right, and you will find another switch. Press A.
  • Now, return to the Second Floor via the staircase.

#Second Floor

  • Walk downward, then head left. The door that was previously locked is now open. Enter and pick up the Dusk Stone.
  • Go upward, and you will find another note:

"Professor Inkberry's Log
Entry 4, April 21st
After an agonizing twenty odd days, I finally encountered the strange blue light again! Or rather... it encountered me. I must admit, I could not keep myself from pursuing my form research. In a fit of frustration, I broke down. While I wept, I felt a sensation draw near. When I lifted my head, I saw it. It was a Rotom, the rare Pokémon first sighted in the Sinnoh region."

  • From the table, walk to the right. Descend the small staircase and grab the Mega Stone – Sablenite.
  • Go back up. Look for the broken floor and jump down. You will land on the First Floor.

#First Floor

  • The locked door on the right is now open.
  • Press A on the switch to the left.
  • Once again, look for the broken floor and jump down to descend to the Basement.

#Basement

  • Walk downward. To the left, you will find a table with a notebook:

"Professor Inkberry's Log
Entry 5, May 9th
Rotom has revealed itself more frequently to me in the past two weeks. It is playful, and seems to also enjoy my company. As time has passed, other Rotom have started to appear, albeit briefly. If only the researchers in Sinnoh could see this! With so many Rotoms gathered, we could make significant progress into their study! However, I will not consult the other researchers.... Rotom is... shy, and I have grown too attached to it to subject it to being studied."

  • Walk to the right. There you will find a switch and the item TM61 Will-O-Wisp. Press A on the switch to open the door in front of you.

  • Now, walk right, then up, right, and down. Defeat the trainer stationed there. To the left of the trainer, you can find the item Destiny Knot!
  • Continue walking downward. On the right side, you will see a staircase. Climb it to return to the First Floor.

#First Floor
  • Here, you will find a table with the final note:
"Professor Inkberry's Log
Entry 6, May 28th
The most incredible thing happened the other day! I had left an appliance magazine out and it caught Rotom's attention. I asked it about its fascination, and in a flash of light it had transformed into an oven before my very eyes! To think, the Pokémon that had frustrated me would have been crucial to my research into Pokémon forms.... I have decided to halt my research indefinitely. I find myself enjoying Rotom's company more than my studies, and have decided to depart the mansion with it. I will leave the catalogue in my storage closet, for those that may find themselves with a Rotom companion as curious as my own."
  • To the right of the table, you will find the Storage Key. This is the key to Professor Inkberry's storage room, where he kept the catalog of appliances for Rotom.
  • To the left, press A on the switch to open the door in front of you.

Rotom Catalog Storage Location

  • After the door opens, walk forward and turn left, then go down, left, and finally up. You will find the storage room door. Use the Storage Key to unlock it.
  • Inside, you will discover the appliance catalog. You can now transform your Rotom into various forms: Heat Rotom, Wash Rotom, Frost Rotom, Fan Rotom, and Mow Rotom.
  • You can catch a wild Rotom inside the Forgotten Manse. To change its form, simply return to this room and press A on the storage cabinet containing the catalog. Then, select Rotom from your party and choose the desired form. You can change its form at any time.
  • You may have noticed during your exploration that some items were unreachable because they require HM Strength. Don't worry; we don't have it yet. You can return to this area later once you obtain the HM. For now, it's time to leave the Forgotten Manse. Head back outside. From where Nurse Lucy is standing, walk downward. This path will lead you back to Route 8.
