Walkthrough Part 3 Pokemon Amethyst: Route 5 to Heleo City

Walkthrough Part 3 Pokemon Amethyst:

Route 5

  • Route 5 is quite spacious, so explore it thoroughly. Upon arriving, head left and then down into the grassy area. You'll find a trainer named Lady Faith; to her upper right is a Heal Ball. From there, move west and use Cut on the blocking tree to find Metal Powder, TM58 Endure, and press A on a nearby rock to reveal a hidden Leaf Stone near the purple-haired female trainer.
  • Continue exploring Route 5. If you head west (left), you'll find a Silver Powder and the Daycare. Inside, a man gives you a Pokémon Egg. Your Rival is also here; talk to them, and they'll offer to trade eggs. Choose Yes to accept or No to decline. There's also a Trainer Tips sign on Route 5 that points the way to Heleo Ranch.

Heleo Ranch

Explore Heleo Ranch to find items: Miracle Seed in the western area and TM45 Attract in the east. Head north, and you'll see another Trainer Tips sign. Continue north to encounter a wild Ampharos at Level 30. You can battle, catch, or defeat it. Once the battle is over, the blocked path opens, revealing the Ampharosite Mega Stone (you can ignore this for now and return later). Return to Route 5.

Route 5

  • From Route 5, head west to reach Route 6.

Route 6

Explore Route 6 carefully. In the southern grassy area, you can find Fresh Water and TM78 Bulldoze. Keep heading west until you find two paths: one leading south to Heleo City and another north to Daimyn City. It's best to head south first toward Heleo City.

Heleo City

This city is quite large with plenty to explore:

  • Cell Battery: Check the western side of the city, specifically in the gaps between fences, to find a hidden Cell Battery.
  • Move Tutor: To the left of the Pokémon Center, enter a house and speak to the seated man with glasses. He can teach you moves like Grass Pledge, Fire Pledge, Water Pledge, Low Kick, Bind, Block, Laser Focus, and Uproar for 5 PokeChips each.
  • HM04 Rock Smash: To the right (east) of the Poké Mart, enter another house and speak to the Hiker (the same one you met on Route 4). As a thank you, he gives you HM04 Rock Smash.
  • Grandpa's Psychic House: To the right of the fountain, enter a house where a grandfather with psychic abilities lives. He can tell you where Swarm Pokémon are appearing. Next to him is a Swarm Pokémon researcher. If you catch a Pokémon from a Swarm, place it first in your party and show it to him for a potential reward.
  • To the right of an old fortune-teller’s house, there’s a blond-haired guy who exchanges PokeChips for random items every day.
  • Inverse Battle: Look for a building called Heleo City Trainer House. Here, you can try out their specialty: the Inverse Battle. The rules are unique — it's as if everything is reversed. For example, a Fire-type move can be super effective against a Water-type. Put your strategy to the test here! Take on the first battle, and if you win consecutively 3 out of 5 times, you'll receive a Mach Bike as a prize.
  • To the left of the Heleo City Trainer House, there is a building. Enter the first floor. There you will find the Pokemon Fans Club. Look for a blonde woman sitting on the left side of the room. She is a professional Pokemon Groomer. Her service can raise your Pokemon's happiness/friendship faster. The cost is 1,000 Poke Dollars per session, and it can only be used once per day. The first time you use her service on any Pokemon, she will give you a Soothe Bell as a gift — an item that also helps increase happiness/friendship. So, if you plan to evolve Pokemon that require high happiness/friendship (such as Riolu, Budew, Togepi, Azurill, and others), make sure to visit here regularly.
  • Moomoo Milk: Behind the Gym building, in the far left corner, you'll find a Moomoo Milk. Grab it before entering the Gym.
  • Now, head south to reach Route 7.
Route 7
Explore this route carefully to collect the following items:
  • TM09 Venoshock: Located in the southwest near the stairs, slightly hidden behind tall grass—check thoroughly.
  • Black Belt
  • Great Ball
  • Stick
If you continue east, you'll encounter a small tree blocking the path. Use Cut to remove it, then head south to return to Rhodanzy City.

Once you've finished here, head back to Heleo City to challenge the Gym Leader.

Heleo City Gym – Leader Raine

This Gym is led by Raine, a weather specialist who designs her team to maximize weather changes. The Gym interior is filled with water pools and Castform that can alter the weather.

Gym Puzzle Guide:

  • The puzzle is simple: talk to the Castform by the pools to change the weather.
  • When Sunny Day is active, the water dries up, allowing you to descend the stairs.
  • When Rain Dance is active, the pools fill with water, opening previously blocked paths.

Step-by-Step:

  1. From the entrance, go left, then down. Talk to the Castform (Sunny Day active). Descend the stairs as the water is dry.
  2. Go right, then up. Climb the stairs, turn right, and go down. Defeat the female trainer there.
  3. Continue down and talk to the next Castform (Rain Dance active). The pools will fill with water.
  4. Return to the female trainer's area. Go left, talk to the Castform (Sunny Day active), and descend the stairs again.
  5. Go down, then right. Defeat the second female trainer.
  6. Go up and climb the stairs. You are now face-to-face with Leader Raine.

Raine's Team (Default Mode):

  • Be careful; Raine has a frustrating weather combo:
  • Pelipper (Level 25): Ability Drizzle automatically summons rain upon entry.
  • Heliolisk (Level 26): Ability Dry Skin restores HP. This is her main threat. Pelipper calls the rain, then Heliolisk enters and can use Thunder, which will never miss in the rain.
  • Ferroseed (Level 24): Ability Iron Barbs.

Prepare a strategy to break her rain combo. After defeating Raine, you'll receive the Stormclude Badge and weather-related TMs like TM11 Sunny Day, TM18 Rain Dance, TM07 Hail, and TM37 Sandstorm.
